The band recently stated that they are aiming to release a follow up album to Diamond Eyes some time in 2012. They said even with their busy touring schedule they will take their off time to focus on writing new material. Sergio Vega will once again be filling in for Chi Cheng ever since his car accident in 2008 that left him in a relatively vegetative state. Chino Moreno is fairly confident however that Deftones will have something before summer of next year, so all of the Deftones fans have something to look towards the future for.
